Hilltop 2026 – Day 1

Wow! What a fantastic first day we’ve had at Hilltop! It’s been brilliant to see our Year 6s mixing with the children from other schools and making new friends so quickly.

When we arrived, we found out our bedrooms and had our lunch in the Games Room. Then, we quickly got organised for our first activity.

For Group 1, it was time to tackle the Tree Top Trail. We learnt how to clip on and off the trail to keep ourselves safe. It was great fun challenging ourselves and choosing the routes that we wanted to take! Lots of children wanted to challenge themselves and go higher, which was brilliant to see.

For Group 2, it was climbing the heights of the crate stack. We worked in pairs to build the stack, balancing and supporting each other as we climbed higher and higher to ring the bell! We also explored underground in the caves, squeezing through tight tunnels and even playing a game of hide and seek.

We all ate well at dinner – sausages and wedges with chocolate sponge and custard for dessert! We let off some steam this evening by playing an energetic game of Mad Hatters in the forest before having some chill time before bed. We’re looking forward to a busy day tomorrow!
