History at Our School

At our school, History brings the past to life and helps children understand how people and events have shaped the world they know today. Our curriculum is designed to spark curiosity, develop historical thinking, and encourage children to explore the richness and diversity of human experiences across different times and places.

Through engaging topics, thoughtful questioning, and the use of high-quality sources and artefacts, children learn to investigate the past, consider different perspectives, and make meaningful connections. They develop key skills such as chronology, analysis, interpretation, and critical thinking, which support learning across the curriculum.

We aim to help children appreciate the complexity of history while recognising its influence on modern life. By learning about significant individuals, civilisations, and local heritage, children gain a sense of identity, community, and the values that shape society today.

Our goal is to inspire young historians who are curious, reflective, and eager to understand the world—past, present, and future.
