Design & Technology

Design and Technology at Our School

At our school, Design and Technology inspires children to become creative problem-solvers who can design, make, and evaluate purposeful products. Our curriculum encourages pupils to use imagination and practical skills to respond to real-life needs, considering function, aesthetics, sustainability, and the needs of others.

Children learn to work with a range of materials, tools, and techniques as they design and create products that are both innovative and useful. Through hands-on projects—such as model building, textiles, mechanisms, structures, and food technology—pupils develop resilience, resourcefulness, and confidence in their own ideas.

We teach children to think critically, evaluate their work, and appreciate the impact of design on everyday life. By exploring the world of engineering, product design, and technology, pupils begin to understand how creativity and technical knowledge work together to solve problems and improve lives.

Our aim is to nurture thoughtful, skilled young designers who take pride in creating well-crafted outcomes and who are equipped with practical skills for the future.
